Punta de Mita Peninsula Only 30 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport, the state of Nayarit has a wide range of areas from major resorts to small remote fishing villages. It is quickly becoming the next hot destination vacation area for Mexico. But don’t worry, Punta Mita is still a “sleepy little Mexican village,” with plenty of beach for all.
